Šibenik has recently been acquired by the Colombian company Football Smart International d.o.o. This change of ownership was officially confirmed on November 26, 2020, when Mayor Željko Burić and the company's director Eduardo Fernando Zapata Sierra signed the agreement for the sale and transfer of shares. The City of Šibenik had previously announced a public invitation to collect offers for the purchase of shares in the club, and the most favorable offer came from Football Smart International. This company paid HRK 3 million as collateral and HRK 651,000 as the remaining purchase price for 297,056 shares of HNK Šibenik. The contract also defines that the buyer assumes responsibility for the condition of the sports facilities used by the club. Football Smart International expressed satisfaction with the completion of the procedure and interest in improving the quality of the club. For the formal takeover of the club, consent from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports is required. This change in ownership could bring new opportunities for HNK Šibenik in the future.
